Meaning
A molecule is a particle made of two or more atoms chemically bonded together.
About Molecules
- A molecule can be shown in a diagram using The Dalton Model of atoms.
- A molecule could be made of many of the same type of atom so it is an element.
- Molecules can be made of many different types of atom and these molecules are called compounds.
Examples
This is a molecule of two Nitrogen atoms bonded together making it an element. | This is two Oxygen atoms bonded together into a molecule. | A water molecule is a compound made of one Oxygen bonded with two Hydrogen atoms. | Carbon Dioxide is a compound molecule made of one Carbon atom and two Oxygen atoms bonded together. |
