Load
is the amount of
solid
material
carried by a
river
.
About Load
The
speed
of the
water
flowing in a
river
can affect how much
material
can be carried.
Faster
water
can move larger pieces of
material
increasing the
load
of the
river
.
When the
speed
of
water
slows down some
material
drops to the
river bed
and so the
load
decreases.
