Key Stage 4

Meaning

Red shift is the apparent change in the visible spectrum from an object towards the red end due to the object moving away from the observer.

About Red Shift

Red shift can be seen by observing the absorption spectra in light coming from an object. If the object is moving away from the observer the absorption lines will be shifted towards the red end of the spectrum.
