A toxic substance is one that is so poisonous it could kill a human.

About Toxic Chemicals

Some chemicals are toxic in very small quantities so even a small amount could kill an organism.
Some toxins must be ingested to kill the organism. However, some can kill an organism if they are inhaled or if some of the chemical gets on their skin.
