Key Stage 3
Meaning
Driving force is a force provided an engine.
About Driving Force
- Driving force is a force so it is measured in Newtons.
- Driving force is a contact force because an engine needs to make contact against a surface and use friction to accelerate the motion of the object.
- Driving Force can cause a vehicle to accelerate and can act to counter air resistance and friction to keep a vehicle travelling at a constant speed.
Example
The driving force of the car acts in the direction of motion. |
