Meaning

Hardness is how difficult it is to change the shape of an object with a force.

About Hardness

Objects which need a lot of force to change their shape are called hard.
Object which need very little force to change their shape are called soft.
Very hard objects are often Brittle which means they can break when you push them with a big force.
