Meaning

A diagram showing the 4 chambers of the heart with the atria at the top.

The left atrium is a chamber at the top left of the heart.

About the Atria

The left atrium is separated from the ventricles by the Bicuspid Valve.
The left atrium receives oxygentated blood from the lungs through a vein called the Pulmonary Vein and pumps it into the left ventricle.
