A bird is an animal with a backbone and feathers.

Plural Noun: Birds

Birds lay eggs with a hard shell.

Most, but not all, birds can fly.

Birds all have beaks and no teeth.


A Robin is known as a song bird for the sounds it makes.	A chicken is a livestock bird used for eggs and meat.	An Ostrich is a flightless bird.

This sea bird is called an Albatross.	A Puffin is a sea bird with a colourful beak.	An Eagle is called a bird of prey because it hunts and kills other animals.

A bird is an animal with a backbone and feathers which lays hard shelled eggs on land.

A bird begins its life in a hard shelled egg.	When the egg hatches the bird has small fluffy feathers and needs its parents to bring food and it cannot fly.	An adult bird has large smooth feathers and most can fly.
