Key Stage 3

Meaning

A diagram showing the layers of the Earth including the two parts of the core.

Earth's Core is the inner two layers of the Earth underneath the mantle.

About the Earth's Core

The Earth's Core is made of a solid inner core and a liquid outer core.
The inner core spins due to convection currents in the outer core which generates the Earth's magnetic field.

Key Stage 4

Meaning

About the Earth's Core

The Earth's Core is made of a solid inner core and a liquid outer core.
The inner core spins due to convection currents in the outer core which generates the Earth's magnetic field.
