Luteinising hormone is a hormone which causes the release of an ovum from a follicle in the ovary.

About Luteinising Hormone

Luteinising hormone is produced by the pituitary gland.

The target organs for luteinising hormone are the ovaries.

Luteinising hormone causes ovulation.

Luteinising hormone causes the lining of the uterus to develop.

Luteinising hormone inhibits the secretion of follicle stimulating hormone.
