Meaning
A microgram (µg) is a unit of mass which is 1000,000,000 times smaller than the SI Unit for mass, the kilogram.
About Microgram
- A microgram is shortened to µg with the Greek letter µ (pronounced mew) with a lower case g.
- Micro refers to one billionth as there are one billion micrograms in a gram.
- A microgram is 10-9 kilograms.
- Micrograms are usually used to describe doses of drugs.
