Meaning
A ton (or megagram) is a unit of mass which is 1000 times greater than the SI Unit for mass, the kilogram.
About Tons
- A ton is the same as a megagram which is shortened to Mg with a an upper case M with a lower case g.
- Mega refers to one million as there are one million grams in a megagram.
- A ton is 103 kilograms.
- Tons are usually used to describe vehicles or large animals.
