Key Stage 4
Meaning
The steady state theory is an abandoned scientific theory which suggested the universe never had a beginning and that as the galaxies move apart from one another, new galaxies would come into existence to fill the gaps.
About The Steady State Theory
- The steady state theory was abandoned because it could not explain the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation.
Evidence
- Redshift - Redshift shows that all of the galaxies are moving away from each other at very high speed.
